Supporting
Samantha Sykes Foundation Trust
Our mission is to provide specialist support and therapeutic interventions to victims and those at high risk of child sexual exploitation, up to the age of 25. Through our referral process, we offer services like Psychotherapy and Trauma Counselling, empowering young individuals to heal and overcome their traumatic experiences.
But that’s not all we do. We also believe in the power of education and strive to support looked-after children and care leavers in accessing further and higher education. By providing essential resources such as books, equipment, laptops, private tutoring, and travel passes, we aim to remove any barriers that hinder their journey towards reaching their full potential.
For these young individuals, the opportunity to pursue any level of education is a remarkable achievement. The impact of our support goes beyond our wildest dreams; it is life-changing. Even the simplest tools for education can unlock a world of possibilities for them.

The Impact We Make
Our charity has two aims
SSFT recognises the discrimination, disadvantage and poor outcomes often associated with being Looked-after in the care system or a care leaver. Only 6% of this vulnerable group go on to access further and higher education mainly due to frequent moves and instability, lack of education opportunities, funding or family support. With the right support these young people can and do achieve their full potential but are rarely provided with the opportunity to do so. SSFT attempt to fill this gap and by providing computers, laptops, books, travel passes , personal tutoring, support and mentoring or any other item we consider will be of benefit and support that young person to reach their full potential.
SSFT also support victims and those at high risk of child sexual exploitation through the provision of specialist counselling, psychotherapy or other interventions to enable young people to heal from their trauma and psychological distress. Often this takes months and even years, many are awaiting court hearings for several years due to the volume of perpetrators being prosecuted.
